Wife of Nigerian footballer, Orelesi, accuses her husband and his mother of driving her to depression and near suicide
Oluwayemisi Cole, the wife of Nigerian footballer Nurudeen Orelesi, has accused her husband and his mother of driving her to depression that almost led to suicide.
The mother-of-one who married the footballer on September 3, 2015, said she sacrificed so much for him before they got married and chose to be by his side rather than be by her sick mother's side just so she could support his ambitions. She said his mother loved her as a result of this and constantly prayed for her.
But after Orelesi got a professional contract and started playing in Europe, his mother's attitude towards her changed so much that she had to leave the house with her child and started squatting around until her husband sent her some money to rent an apartment. But this allegedly only angered her mother-in-law further.
She says her husband has now abandoned her and their son and only checks on his son by asking other people about him.
The treatment she got from her husband and his mother led her to depression and almost caused her to commit suicide, she said.
