26-year-old Pakistani model commits suicide after battle with severe depression

Anam Tanoli, a fashion model from Pakistan, was found dead at her residence in Lahore on Saturday. Police sources have revealed that the 26-year-old had committed suicide and was found hanging from her ceiling fan at her residence in the Defence area. The body was shifted to the General Hospital for post mortem examination. The model had returned to Pakistan two months back from Italy. Several reports hint that Tanoli was suffering from severe depression although it is not known if she was feeling low because of personal or professional reasons. Further investigations are underway to ascertain the cause of her suicide.

President Buhari has said that as a beneficiary of free and fair elections, he is not afraid of a credible process in 2019. Speaking at an interactive session with members of the Nigerian community in China today, Sunday September 2nd, President Buhari pledged that Nigerians eligible to vote in the next general elections will be allowed to freely elect candidates of their choice. ‘‘I have no fear about free and fair elections because that is what brought me to the present position. Workers hack 28-year-old boss to death in Ogun

A 28 year old farmer, Adeleke Adewusi, has been hacked to death allegedly by his workers at his farm in Alapa community in the state on Monday August 26th. According to Punch, the two accused workers were allegedly hired by a resident of the community identified simply as Ola Sheu to kill their boss whom he was having a running battle with. It was learnt that the deceased was applying pesticides on his cocoa farm, said to be about one acre, when one of the workers, Femi, suddenly descended on him with a machete. In an attempt to get help for the deep cut he sustained, Adeleke reportedly ran to the second worker identified as Kehinde who also allegedly brought out a machete and joined in the attack. The suspects then fled the scene after they confirmed him dead. 30 soldiers reportedly 'killed' as Boko Haram Invades military base

At least 30 soldiers have been killed, following an attack by Boko Haram insurgents on their military base. The insurgents, according to AFP, were said to have invaded the military base, located in the North-East, near the border Nigeria shares with Niger. According to sources who spoke to AFP, the soldiers attacked the army establishment at Zari village, near the northern axis of Borno State, late on Thursday. The troops had to temporarily withdraw their attacks, following the heavy fighting that took place. Another military source, who preferred not to be named, was quoted as saying: “they came in large numbers in trucks, carrying heavy weapons and engaged soldiers in a battle that lasted for an hour. We lost at least 30 men. Flood destroys 3.700 card readers at INEC office in Edo State

Over 3,700 card readers have been destroyed by flood at the Edo State headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), prompting the commission to consider relocating the state headquarters.
